I was recently in Las Vegas where I attended Photoshop World, a 3-day Photoshop and digital photography conference with classes taught from the industries leading experts. So much knowledge and insight from the panel of instructors that ranged from authors to designers to pro photographers, all excited to share their years of experience.
I took in a couple photoshop classes and learned some new techniques, but my main focus was the photography track. Location lighting, studio lighting, selecting the right lens, tips for the working photographer . . . the choices were great and the knowledge I walked away with was even better!
This month I’ve also started the Fall semester at UCSD taking two evening classes, environmental portrature and lighting on the go. They have helped sharpen my technical skills and creative thought process behind the lens. And as if all this isn’t enough, I’m looking forward to taking Joe McNally’s one day lighting class in LA next month!
So why all the photography stuff? Sure it’s a blast, and a great creative outlet. But more importantly, at Buchanan Design we are interested in giving our clients a unique voice with a piece that stands apart. Custom imagery is an important part of the branding process and we’re excited about making it click!
